the most I remember doing for Valentine's is just getting and receiving cards, so erm... it's kind of like I don't celebrate it at all. this Valentine's is special though because it falls on Chinese New Year, which is really rare :)
haha ♥ really, why should only few days a year be happy? :3
I never even got any card... valentine's has no tradition here and only became popular in last few years due to commercial massage. It's seen as a huge americanization and people are mostly DNW about it, reasoning that it doesn't make sense to only be romantic one day a year. Others think it's a nice occasion to be all lovey-dovey on top of how they normally are. I'm single, so I don't care either way. But I guess I never really celebrated it.. and chinese new year.. chinese community is pretty much non-existant here, so you wouldn't know. But I'd love to see some celebrations for myself.
exactly. it's dumb that there's basically only one day a year where you show your love, you should show it everyday.
that's understandable. it's really just a commercial holiday for companies to gain even more money. I'm single too. the other name we have here for Valentine's is Singles Awareness Day (SAD)... ok. my family doesn't celebrate Chinese New Year, but I wish we did. I should've driven myself to Chinatown.
